A mainstay at Sydney’s top comedy clubs, Jamal Abdul delivers raw, unapologetic humour with a razor-sharp perspective. Known for his punchy, joke-heavy sets and fearless cultural commentary, he captivates audiences with a distinctive blend of storytelling and unflinching wit.

Born to an Italian mother and an Arab father, Jamal was diagnosed with a rare eye condition at just three months old, resulting in severe vision impairment. This early experience of being an outsider shaped his worldview—and his comedy. His signature "I'm not the problem, you're the problem" attitude drives material that’s both deeply personal and universally relatable.

Jamal’s rise began in 2017 when he won the Stand Up and Be Counted Comedy Competition. By 2018, he was a RAW Comedy State Finalist, cementing his place in Sydney’s comedy scene. In 2022, he made his mark at the Sydney Comedy Festival with his debut solo show, It’s Not Me, It’s You, playing to sold-out crowds and earning praise for "leaving a lasting impression" and “deconstructing the funny side of living with a disability.” - Theatre Travels.

Since then, he has continued to grow across Australia. In 2023, he joined the *Are You Pulling My Leg?* comedy tour—an Australia-wide showcase of comedians with disability, produced by Access Arts. The tour has continued through 2025, taking Jamal from major cities to regional towns, proving his appeal transcends boundaries.

Whether onstage in Sydney or the outback, Jamal’s comedy hits hard, turning his unique lens on life into laughter you can’t ignore.
